One year ago, almost to the day, since we said goodbye to Hardy, we have had to do the same to Laurel who suffered a nasty eye injury a couple of weeks ago that would not respond to treatment.
I sat in my car at the veterinary surgery for a few minutes after he was put down to let the family know the news by WhatsApp and they responded by sending several photographs and videos of happier times some of which I have posted here. The video below showing Laurel's disdain for a young Blue made me laugh just when the veterinary surgeon who administered the final injection walked past my car; the look he gave me suggested that this was not the reaction that he might have expected following Laurel's demise!
